Syrian president agrees to Russian-led peace talks

After several months of violence between anti-government rebels and Bashar al-Assad's government, the first step to peace has been taken. Many criticized the two countries for the veto but now Russia has influenced al-Assad to meet with the anti-government leaders in Moscow. According to some reports, the head of the Syrian National Council has rejected the Moscow invitation and will only talk until al-Assad steps down.
