Open Question: Aren't racism accusations over illegal immigration ridiculous?

Since when did "American" become a race? Isn't it racist for the accuser to assume that the term "illegals" refers only to Hispanics? (which is why they've called you racist) Why do they assume white immigrants never come here?? Where I'm from, there is a HUGE illegal immigration issue and I've met people from Germany, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Ireland, England, Denmark, Wales... they were all white. And I don't want them here either if they came illegally. What does race have ANYTHING to do with illegal immigration? @A conservative Republican: Right, because Mexicans are the only people who come here, right? You are very, very mistaken. @Reagan: How is that racist?? They DO. That was my whole point. They DO do that. I have seen it over and over and over. People see them as these poor shell-shocked hicks from another country, so awed by the big bad US and it isn't true. How is that statement racist? What does it have anything to do with somebody's race? Oh, I know why: Because YOU assume ALL illegals are Hispanic, right? Sorry, they aren't. @Raped By The Govt: You know, I was thinking about your answer to the other question. My ex is an electrician and he was having trouble finding a job, too. I remember something he told me. Obviously on a job site he worked with LOTS of Hispanics and he said that he often had conversations with them about being here and what it was like, etc. One guy told him that they would come here and work for 6 months, save up all their money (NOT spending it here to put back into our economy) then go back to their countries and "live like kings" for 6 mos and on and on like that.
