Open Question: Strangeness about the nature of reality?

In the universe, it has become clear that the relative sizes of everything always seems to be logarithmic in comparison to each other. For instance, the Earth is 2 orders of magnitude smaller than the sun is terms of it's diameter, and getting on for 6 orders of magnitude smaller in terms of it's volume The post box may be 0.1 miles away, where as the nearest star is getting of for 13 orders of magnitude greater the distance. Child get assaulted (spanked by their parents), maybe about 3 times per month; which is getting on for 3 orders of magnitude more often that a known given person may spank an adult. The pain that child feel is far more sensitive than that of adults, which can made the problem getting on for 5 orders of magnitude more serious. This calculation of stress does not include the amount of verbal abuse violations. Some children experience up 2 orders of magnitude higher abuse levels. The reason that some people childhood seems good, is because it is good by comparison to some other children and that this the lifestyle we always knew; but we forget this overtime, and it is always worse than adulthood, but only seems like it is better (an illusion in this sense). The scale of Earthquakes are also measured in this sense; so each 2 units on the Richter Scale is 10 times the size of the previous (one order of magnitude). Similar is the case for the amount of money that people have; for instance Bill Gates has an average of 7 or 8 orders of magnitude more money to play around with than the average person. Poor people in Africa are up to 9 or 10 orders of magnitude less well off than he is. In physics the scales can also get very small. An atom is 9 orders of magnitude smaller than a grain of sand diameter wise, and 27 orders of magnitude smaller volume wise. A nucleus of an atom is 5 orders of magnitude smaller diameter wise than a atom, which is 15 orders of magnitude smaller volume wise. The gluon, which is inside the nucleus of an atom is about 1000th of that nucleus. There a gluon is 45 orders of magnitude smaller than a grain of sand volume wise. Another example is the size of life forms, a human is about 24 orders of magnitude bigger in volume than a bacterium. Even human behaviour and levels of abuse and suffering function on these scales. For instance an average care-home has 3 or 4 orders of magnitude more abuse per resident, than what the average person experiences every day. The atomic bomb that was dropped in Russia (Tzar bomb) is the biggest explosion ever known, and could burn you to death from 60 miles away; and has a temperature of over 10,000,000 degrees (5 orders of magnitude higher than the difference between boiling and freezing water. This shows the magnitude of what evil can produce. Abortions have happened to millions of babies; which is up to 7 orders of magnitude worse than one murder case. Very few punishment have been handed out to people, and when they were it was very mild (by about 1 or 2 orders of magnitude). How can I get my mind to think in terms of this being the true nature of reality? This does go someway to explain why some people are positive and why some people are negative; because of your experiences when considering the above can have the tendency to be so bad or good, that what ever you rarely experience seems to be what cannot be mostly true of reality. The truth is that extremes of good and bad occur in this way all the time. CREED... Read More »
